Content
The consolidated statutes and regulations and the annual statutes from Saskatchewan are updated weekly by CanLII, from the Saskatchewan Queen's Printer Freelaw website, maintained by the Government of Saskatchewan. The chapters of each revision of the historical revised statutes were scanned from official publications.
Consolidated Statutes
The consolidated statutes database contains point-in-time versions of the Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan, 1978 (RSS 1978) starting on March 2003, as well as new public acts enacted by chapters of the annual Statutes of Saskatchewan (SS).
These versions are "in force versions", that is, versions of the text as it was legally binding during a certain period of time.
CanLII cites these statutes as follows:
- by their RSS 1978 chapter number, as for example: Farming Communities Land Act, RSS 1978, c F-10; or
- by their SS annual chapter number, as for example: Licensed Practical Nurses Act, 2000, SS 2000, c L-14.2.
Annual Statutes
The annual statutes database brings together the assented statutes once enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan since the province’s inception, starting on May 1906. They include new Acts as well as Acts that amend existing consolidated Acts.
CanLII refers to annual statutes by their Statutes of Saskatchewan (SS) chapter number, as for example:
- The Heritage Property Amendment Act, 2018, SS 2018, c12;
- An Act to amend "The Interpretation Ordinance", SS 1906, c 2.
Historical Revised Statutes
The Historical Revised Statutes database contains all historical Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan (RSS) adopted since 1909. The chapters are made available as proclaimed into force on the following dates:
- RSS 1909:
March 15, 1911; - RSS 1920:
November 10, 1920; - RSS 1930:
February 1, 1931; - RSS 1940:
February 1, 1941; - RSS 1953:
February 1, 1954; - RSS 1965:
February 7, 1966. CanLII cites these historical revisions by their RSS chapter number, as for example:
- An Act respecting the Form and Interpretation of Statutes, RSS 1909, c 1;
- An Act respecting the Legislative Assembly, RSS 1920, c 2;
- An Act respecting Elections of Members of the Legislative Assembly, RSS 1930, c 4;

- An Act respecting a Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, RSS 1953, c 66;
- Executive Government and Public Officers, RSS 1965, c 7.
Links to the amending annual legislation are made available for each revised chapter. Unlike the RSS 1978, point-in-time versions are not provided for historical revisions.
Consolidated Regulations
The consolidated regulations database contains point-in-time versions of the Revised Regulations of Saskatchewan (RRS) as well as Saskatchewan Regulations (Sask Reg) enabled by a consolidated statute, starting on March, 2003. These versions are "posted versions", that is, versions of the text as it was posted on the official printer's website and downloaded by CanLII at a specific date.
CanLII cites these regulations as follows:
- by their RRS chapter number, as for example: Municipalities Regulations, RRS c M-36.1 Reg 1; or
- by their Sask Reg number, as for example: Helium and Associated Gases Regulations, Sask Reg 559/64.
